Boys & Girls Clubs in Connecticut
have been in the forefront of youth development for over 145 years,
working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social
and family circumstances.
In 1860, four Hartford women founded
the first Boys Club in America - The Dashaway Club. Today
their vision has blossomed into the Boys & Girls Clubs
in Connecticut - 16 Clubs, operating some 45 facilities statewide,
serving over 62,000 youngsters each day.
Connecticut Area
Council
The Connecticut Area Council was
established in April 1973 to provide a forum for Boys &
Girls Club board members and executive directors within the
state of Connecticut.
Connecticut Alliance
The Connecticut Alliance of Boys &
Girls Clubs, Inc. was established in 2003 to promote the
social welfare of the boys and girls that are served by the
sixteen Connecticut Boys & Girls Clubs.
