President's Message
As the Executive Director of the Boys
& Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley, as well as the President
of the Connecticut Alliance Board of Directors, I can speak first
hand of the importance of the Connecticut Alliance and the benefits
to be gained by each of the state's sixteen clubs if the Alliance
successfully implements its mission.
The growth our state's Boys & Girls Club movement will, for
the most part, be determined by the availability of financial resources
to fund our "outreach" activities. Local funding activities,
even those that are effective and successful, are needed to support
the program activities within the current club structure. There
are still so many children in the State of Connecticut that need
our services and they can only be reached by funding our outreach
initiatives.
The Connecticut Alliance is a 501 (C) (4) non-profit organization
which conducts its fund raising activities, on behalf of the sixteen
state clubs, in the area of state and federal funding sources. While
the Alliance's Mission addresses other related activities, the Alliance
Board of Directors has carefully examined and limited our staff
resources to those programs and activities that clearly fell within
the overall strategy of seeking increased governmental funding on
both the state and federal level.
On behalf of the Alliance's Board of Directors, I welcome the opportunity
to dialog with you in regards to our defined Mission and will continue
to communicate with you and provide periodic updates as to our success,
or lack thereof, in executing our mission.
Sincerely,
Jack Ribas
President
