Boys & Girls Clubs in Connecticut
The Connecticut Clubs are
part of a nationwide affiliation of local, autonomous organizations
and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
The Clubs help youth from all backgrounds to develop the qualities
needed to become responsible citizens and leaders:
- 59% are male and 41% are female
- Over 70% of our membership at or below the poverty line
- 63% come from single-parent homes
We serve a diverse population of youth:
- 27% are African-American
- 22% are Hispanic
- 44% are Caucasian
- 3% are Asian or Native American
- 5% Multi-racial
The Clubs offer daily access to a broad range of programs
in five core program areas:
- Character and Leadership Development
- Education and Career Development
- Health and Life Skills
- The Arts
- Sports, Fitness and Recreation
