Connecticut Area Council

The mission of the Connecticut Area Council is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantage circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

  • Provides opportunities for conferences with national Boys & Girls Club of America officers and staff.
  • Assists in the expansion and improvement of the Boys & Girls Club movement in Connecticut.
  • Assists in securing support for Boys & Girls Clubs in Connecticut.
  • Provides a statewide framework and leadership for resource allocation.

Enriching the Lives of Boys & Girls

The Boys & Girls Clubs actively enrich the lives of girls and boys whom other youth agencies have difficulty in reaching.

In a world that has never seemed more threatening and devoid of promise for a disproportionate number of America's children, Boys & Girls Clubs in Connecticut provide a tangible measure of hope. The Clubs offer young people what they need and want most: adults who respect and listen to them; a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; and interesting, constructive activities that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits.

A youth development strategy underlies all Boys & Girls Club programs and fosters a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness and influence that builds self-confidence and self-esteem. The Clubs provide:

  • A safe place to learn and grow
  • Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals
  • Life enhancing programs and character development experiences
  • Hope and opportunity

The sixteen Boys & Girls Clubs in Connecticut are dedicated to ensuring that our community's disadvantaged youngsters have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures.
